After Monday's instant elimination shocker, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton were forced to cut another team member each last night on The Voice.

On Team Christina, Chris Mann earned the most votes, earning a spot in the final eight and leaving Ashley De La Rosa and Lindsey Pavao to sing for Xtina.

Ashley performed "You & I," while Lindsey tackled "Please Don't Go." It was agonizing, but Aguilera picked Lindsey to advance, sending Ashley packing.

"I really love these two girls a lot. I really believe in you," the "Fighter" singer said before making her decision. "You both are complete superstars."

On Team Blake, Jermaine Paul moved on via America's votes.

That left Erin Willet to sing "Proud Mary" and RaeLynn to perform "If I Die Young." in hopes of winning Shelton's favor, and it appeared both won him over.

Sadly, he couldn't take both along to the final eight.

"I love both of you and we have a bond for different reasons," the country star said, visibly unsettled. "This is way rougher than I thought it would be ... "

As the credits rolled, host Carson Daly practically begged Shelton to make a decision, and only then did he save Erin, sending RaeLynn home in tears.

Essential Info: Chances are you won't hear any tracks from Mickey Factz's Mickey Mause mixtape burning up radio, but that doesn't make it any less poignant. Lupe Fiasco dubbed it a "#MasterPiece" on Twitter and even Swizz Beatz gave it a push, sending out the link over the social networking site.

The highly conceptualized tape, which samples from producers Danger Mouse and deadmau5, finds the Bronx MC in character. He isn't Mickey Factz, but instead Mickey Mause, a 1980s graffiti artist who strives to make a name for himself among the greats like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf and Fab Five Freddy.

On his way to infamy, Mickey Mause stumbles, hitting every pitfall imaginable. "He just got involved with drugs, alcohol and sex and later contracts HIV," Factz explained to Mixtape Daily of his character's fate.

The story line plays out over the course of 18 tracks. On "Hulk Hogan & Crack," Factz as Mickey Mause paints a gritty picture of the 1980s NYC party scene on a crumbling canvas. Through his raps, the MC goes from bombing graffiti on old-time trains to posting his work in gallery spaces to parties with New York Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden. It all sounds fascinating, but his ups are quickly drowned in drugs and other destructive behavior.

The trippy and electro-tinged "Taking Pictures of Girls Naked" details a passionate sexual encounter that eventually spells doom for the tape's protagonist. On "A.I.D.S," Mause looks back on his life, remaining celebratory on the upbeat dance track despite receiving some shocking news. "If tonight is my last night, please don't cry/ Just remember the good times of my life," he sings on the song's hook.

In order to successfully sell his story, Mickey had to employ method rapping — a process where he would mentally and physically become the fictional character he is singing about. "When I first started the project, I was rapping as Mickey Factz, I was telling the story from Mickey Factz's point of view, and my A&R Steve-O was like, 'You need to rap as Mickey Mause,' " he said.

At the behest of his trusted friend, Mickey grew a beard and took up painting. He admitted that the change initially affected his personal relationships — his friends and family members didn't quite understand the metamorphosis, but Mickey marched on. "I really had to become the character to make sure the point of the character and the project came across correctly."

Between Home, Basic, Premium, Ultimate, and all the rest, it's enough to drive a person to buying a Mac instead. Microsoft has at last addressed the problem, and the upcoming Windows 8 will have only three flavors to choose from. (Msnbc.com is a joint venture of Microsoft and NBCUniversal.)

They're refreshingly easy to wrap your mind around:

• Windows 8?-- for x86-based hardware like your average desktop or laptop; includes all features the average user will need, including both the new Metro interface and the original desktop look.
  
• Windows 8 Pro?-- for pros, naturally, and businesses, this version adds in things like encryption, virtualization, and PC management. There is a variant of this strictly for enterprise called, unsurprisingly, Windows 8 Enterprise, but it's not actually something home users can buy.

Who would've thought that kind, gentle Lane Pryce would ever get into a fist fight on "Mad Men"? In the office? With a co-worker?! Well, it happened on Sunday's episode when the Englishman lost his cool with Pete Campbell at the start of a partners' meeting.

Sure, it was pretty ridiculous, what with Don drawing the shades so that the rest of the office wouldn't see the brawl. But as Joan later noted to Lane, "Everyone in this office has wanted to do that to Pete Campbell."

It wouldn't be a "Real Housewives" reunion without a fight, and it wouldn't be "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion without NeNe Leakes finding herself at the center of the fracas.

On Sunday night, the Atlanta gang did not disappoint.

The biggest sparks of the evening flew when Sheree Whitfield brought NeNe's son, Bryson Bryant, into the fray by mentioning his 2011 arrest for shoplifting.?

"My son ain't even in this!" NeNe shot back.

But according to Sheree, he was in it. After all, NeNe frequently reminded her fellow "Housewives" that she's rich now that she's a breakout star. Sheree just wanted to know why NeNe's son would resort to if an alleged five-finger discount if that really was the case.

NeNe, of course, didn't see it that way.

"Whatever mistake my child make is not a reflection of me," she protested. "He is a grown man. He is 22-year-old, and whatever he does is on him. It does not reflect on me. I raised him to do the right thing.... I?m no different from you, (expletive). Don't you ever talk about my kids, OK?"

OK! Well, that settled that -- or not. Just as NeNe found her righteous footing in the fight, Kim Zolciak reminded NeNe that she's had a lot to say her Kim's kids on Twitter.

"I don't never tweet about your kids!" Nene shouted. "I said you had three different baby-daddies.... Is that talking about your children?"

Not surprisingly, there was some debate on that point.

'Simpsons' creator: Ore. town inspired Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) ? The Springfield that exists in the mind of Matt Groening is a kind of American everything ? hick pit stop, rosy-cheeked Rockwellian font of family values, cesspool of corruption, ethnic melting pot, boomtown gone to rust.

It's what the creator of "The Simpsons," the nation's longest-running sitcom, used as a backdrop for 22-minute allegories about the American experience, beginning as earnest tales about a lower-middle class nuclear family and expanding to encompass spoofs of presidential elections, the obesity epidemic and "Citizen Kane."

It's also, according to an interview posted online Tuesday, a real place. "Springfield was named after Springfield, Ore.," Groening told Smithsonian magazine.

The inspiration, Groening explained, came when he was a child watching the TV show "Father Knows Best," set in a town called Springfield. Groening said he was thrilled to imagine the show was based in Oregon's Springfield, about 100 miles south of his hometown of Portland.

"When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name," Groening said. "I also figured out that Springfield was one of the most common names for a city in the U.S.

"In anticipation of the success of the show, I thought, 'This will be cool; everyone will think it's their Springfield,'" he said. "And they do."

Groening said he has long given fake answers when asked about the Simpsons' hometown, leaving open the possibility that his latest one is itself another fake. Asked later by The Associated Press, Groening said in a statement: "I have no idea where the Hell it is. Like all Americans I flunked geography."

The acknowledgement to Smithsonian magazine ends one of the longest-running mysteries in popular culture. But people in town on Tuesday weren't quite sure what to do with the information.

"He did?" asked convenience store manager Denise Pohrman. "I think that's a good thing. I think."

But how should the town react? On the surface, it's not a flattering portrait. Groening's Springfield is polluted and sad, run by corrupt officials and beset by the simpleminded populace that keeps voting for them.

Embrace it, Pohrman said.

"There's the stuffy part of history, and then there's the trivia," Pohrman said. "Everybody needs some fun."

The series has been on the air for 22 years, becoming the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program and a cultural phenomenon with colleges devoting courses to studying it.

The real Springfield is a western Oregon town of about 60,000 people. Its quiet Main Street is struggling in the face of a recession while the highway-based chain stores and restaurants survive or thrive. Its median income is just under $40,000 and nearly 20 percent of people of all ages live under the poverty line.

"It took a lot of tenacious people to found Springfield," Springfield Museum executive director Debra Gruell said. "When the railroad went away, they persevered. The town wouldn't be here without that."

Some comparisons do hold true. Just as the fictional Springfield endures the hate hoots of rival Shelbyville, the real Springfield must contend with the larger ? and wealthier ? Eugene, home to the University of Oregon and the recipient of much of Nike founder Phil Knight's largesse.

Maybe we should have known all along, said Wayne Jones, a 28-year-old clerk at the Bright Oak Meats in downtown Springfield. Jones has long argued that Oregon's Springfield is the true inspiration for Groening's invention.

For one, there's the statue of an unnamed man astride a horse in downtown, just as the fictional Springfield features a memorial to founder Jebediah Springfield (nee Hans Sprungfeld) in its town square.

And people living near the now-shuttered Trojan Nuclear Power Plant near Prescott, Ore., have always considered the site to be the real counterpart to the fictional Springfield power plant.

The fictional town's true location has been a secret for so long, even the jokes about its secrecy are old. In one, the showrunners had a narrator give one location in a voiceover for the first broadcast, then change it in reruns. In "The Simpsons Movie," one character says the fictional state borders Ohio, Nevada, Maine and Kentucky.

Until Tuesday, Portland, Ore., provided the most likely inspiration for the Simpsons' hometown. Many of the names of characters on the show ? Flanders, Quimby, Kearney ? are names of streets in Portland.

Think back to the last time you tried to bring about a change. For example, imagine you were going to learn to sing. You've never done it before. All of your life, people told you were tone deaf. They said hurtful things like "Don't quit your day job. You can't carry a tune in a hand basket."

Perhaps you laughed with them, but you felt hurt anyway. It always was your ultimate dream. Now that you know about the law of attraction, you?re going to bring it into reality. You create your perfect success picture. You imagine how it feels to sing the notes. You visualize the look on others faces as they listen to you in awe. By the books, you?re doing everything right.

But how do you feel? Do you feel 100% confident that you're going to reach your dream? Or do you feel like something is wrong?

If you have even a hint of worry or dread that you won't reach your objective, you won't reach it. That is how the law truly works. You attract more and more of what you feel, not what you say.

What can you do?
Before you create your picture and before you say a single affirmation, you need to get into a powerful feeling that all is well in your universe. One way to do that is to focus on a picture that gives you a blissful feeling of contentedness before you even think of your goal.

Imagine a perfect but believable scenario that puts you into that state of mind. You can imagine cradling a small baby who looks up at you and smiles. Or you may imagine a kitten sitting on your lap purring loudly as you pet it. Whatever you picture, try to conjure up a feeling of perfect love and contentedness where no inner conflict can arise.

Once you've reached this powerful state, you can start visualizing your goal without any negative emotion getting in your way.
